 If you are in the market to purchase a used motorcycle, the process of searching can be quite daunting. Though it brings a sense of joy, a bit of adrenaline, a thrill of adventure and a feeling of freedom, purchasing second hand bikes is not an easy task. When you are looking at a  bike, you may see that they look the same however all bikes perform differently based on the size of the engine and the speed at which the bike will travel. 

When you are motorbike shopping, keep the following tips in mind –

 

•When you are looking around, be sure to make a list of the types of bikes you are interested in. Whether you are aware of the fact or not, but there are several types of motorcycles available in the market. As you will find, these types of bikes vary from Choppers, Racing, Street, Touring and other bikes.

 

•Make a list with the different engine sizes. If you want a powerful engine, look out for four cylinder highly tuned engine. Smaller engines such as the two stroke variety are usually only available in off road bikes due to emission restrictions.

 

•Conduct research and find out the different models that fit in your requirement. You may discover that few models come equipped only with a single type of engine, whereas several body types can easily handle a range of engines. If you are new to the motorbike scene, start of with a bike that is no bigger than 250CC.

 

•After you have made your decision, be sure to look over the bike for certain problems. Be sure to sit on the bike to check the seat and position are comfortable. When you are sitting on the bike, place your feet on the ground to make sure the ride height is ok. 

 

•If you are buying a road bike look for the side mirrors to check the position and line of sight. It is very important to check the bikes brakes, lights, signals, and horn to see if they are working properly.
